Small Groups
Thank you for browsing our site and your interest in knowing more about our small groups. We believe that humans are social beings who need fellowship with God and with each other. Our life groups (small groups) provide a safe and comfortable setting for healthy interaction that helps members find intimate community, practical help and support, and accountability.
The Bible tells us that the first Christians met regularly in the temple, synagogues, by the river edges, public places; wherever they had an opportunity. With the destruction of the temple and the spreading of the church, houses became the favorite places. So we have small groups because they fit the model of the first church, and because we can fulfill our vision for discipleship, fellowship and evangelism better through our small groups.
A word from Abraham, our small group pastor.
Occasionally someone tells me that he/she is a Christians, but he/she doesn’t attend church regularly. I seldom question that. However, I see it as an opportunity to invite the person to attend a Small Group where they will not find themselves pressured into making a commitment to serve the Lord.
We believe that the greatest benefit you will receive by attending one of our small groups is the close relationships you will develop. You’ll discover that your needs, problems and conflicts are not unique.
In addition, I’ve heard people who have stated that while listening to a Bible teacher or preacher they’ve wanted to stop them and ask, ``But what about ...?' or ``I don't understand!' then a small group is for you. Preaching and teaching is one-way communication; you listen while the speaker talks. In a small group, you can ask questions, participate in a discussion of the text or subject, and hear other insights and illustrations of truth. Applying the Bible to your own personal situations happens best in small groups. So, why don’t you give a try?
